Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do I make a song slowed and reverb?
Head to our Tool page, choose an audio file from your device, adjust the sliders to taste, and click Create Slowed + Reverb. The browser processes your file locally and produces a downloadable WAV in seconds — no installs, no accounts.
-
Is this tool safe? Do you upload my audio files?
Your audio is never uploaded — not even a byte of it. All processing happens entirely inside your browser using the Web Audio API, a standard feature built into every modern browser. If you're skeptical (and you should be with any online tool), you can verify this yourself:
Open DevTools → Network tab → filter by "Media" and run a file through the tool. You will see zero outbound audio requests. We encourage this check.
-
What audio file formats are supported?
You can upload MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, and AAC files. Supported formats depend slightly on your browser, but MP3 and WAV work universally. The output is always a 16-bit stereo WAV file for maximum quality and compatibility with any DAW or editing software.

What is slowed + reverb music?
Slowed and reverb is an audio aesthetic where a track's playback speed is reduced — typically to 75–90% of the original tempo — which also lowers the pitch. A reverb effect is then layered on to simulate the feeling of a large space. The combination creates a dreamy, melancholic atmosphere popularised on YouTube and SoundCloud in the early 2010s.
-
Why does slowed music sound so good?
Slowing audio lowers pitch, which gives tracks a more cinematic and melancholy quality. The added reverb creates a sense of space and distance — the brain interprets it as something vast and open. Together, the two effects strip away the urgency of the original, making it feel more emotional and immersive.
-
What are the best settings for a slowed and reverb track?
Good defaults: Speed 0.85×, Reverb Size 3s, Reverb Decay 2.0, Mix 70%, Bass Boost +3dB. For a heavier, more washed-out effect try the Heavy Reverb or Underwater presets on the Tool page. For something more subtle, Subtle or lower the Mix to around 40%.
-
What does the Reverb Mix slider do?
It controls the wet/dry balance between the original signal and the reverb-processed signal. At 0% you hear only the dry original. At 100% you hear only the reverb output. The default 72% gives a signature slowed-reverb blend where the original voice/melody is still intelligible but surrounded by space.
-
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes — the tool works in any modern mobile browser including Chrome for Android and Safari on iOS. Large files (60+ minutes) or complex settings may take longer on lower-powered devices. Keeping your screen on during processing is recommended.
-
Is there a file size limit?
We don't impose one. The practical limit is your device's available RAM — the audio buffer lives in memory while rendering. Most songs and even full albums process without any issues on modern phones and computers.
-
What is the best free app for slowed and reverb?
For desktop-quality results without any install, VibeAudio gives you full control over speed, reverb size, decay, mix, and bass boost directly in your browser. For mobile apps, Audacity (desktop) and GarageBand (iOS) are also excellent free options, though they require installation and manual setup.
-
Does the pitch change when I slow down a song?
Yes — and intentionally so. Reducing playback speed via the Web Audio API also shifts pitch downward, which is the defining characteristic of the slowed + reverb aesthetic. This differs from "pitch-neutral" time-stretching algorithms used in DAWs. If you want to preserve pitch while changing tempo, a desktop tool like Audacity with its Time Stretch feature is more appropriate.
